The East Slovak Transshipment Yards represent a major logistics hub on the border between the European Union and Ukraine. Thanks to our connection to both the 1520 mm broad-gauge and 1435 mm European standard-gauge railway lines, we ensure the seamless movement of goods between railway systems without unnecessary delays.

We provide customers with comprehensive services, ranging from the actual transshipment and re-pumping of commodities to customs formalities, storage, and accompanying logistics.

Without changing the transport mode within the territory of the Slovak Republic, it is possible to carry out regular cargo shipments using a CIM consignment note to selected stations in Ukraine, as well as transit transport through Ukraine towards Romania via the Čierna nad Tisou/Chop – Diakovo/Halmeu route.

At the same time, conditions are established for the direct transport of shipments under an international CIM consignment note from all COTIF member states to stations on the Ukrainian 1435 mm gauge section: Chop, Esen, Batevo, Barkasovo, Strabychevo, Mukachevo.

For all other stations, a change of the transport mode is carried out between the SMGS and CIM systems.

Transshipment is possible in both directions, meaning also from standard to broad gauge, as well as transport via standard gauge towards the east with transshipment in Ukraine.
